This Christmas I have been hankering after one of Cath Kidston's retro style tableclothes but just cant bring myself to pay all that money for something that I am only going to use once a year. Then I had an idea! I could make my own... even though I'm a hopeless sewer I can just about manage to put a hem on something! But finding that retro style fabric has been difficult until...I stumbled across this on the internet. It is by Michael Miller who produces some absolutely wonderful kitsch and retro prints. This one is called Yule Critters and will be my new tablecloth!! It is a US company but in the UK Michael Miller fabric is available at Fabulousfabric.
Lovely fabrics Susie! Those gnomes are so funny! Have fun with your Christmas shopping!
ReplyDeleteHope you are well, have missed you! Love the fabric, especially the caravan one! XXX
ReplyDeleteHello! I am new to your blog. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the fabrics that you showed. I had no idea Michael Miller did such fabric! It's wonderful! Have a nice day! Twyla
ReplyDeletelovely fabrics...we started christmas shopping last week, I love it but sometimes its hard to know what to buy people!
ReplyDeletethanks for your lovely comment on my blog xxx
Susie, thanks for the tip about this great retro fabric! I Googled it and found a shop that carries it only 15 minutes away from me! It's a quilting shop, and I didn't even know it was there. The big fabric shops around here don't have any retro looking fabric at all! I'm so excited about this!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Christmas shopping!

There are several fabrics here I love, even though I am not so much a 'retro' person as a 'shabby chic' one. The Gnome~some Traveler is a kick and the Christmas Greeting would look pretty on my table.
ReplyDeleteI am in your boat, well maybe you are better off than me, but I am just learning to sew on a machine. If I started now, I might have a table cloth by Christmas Day! lol!!
Have fun and much luck shopping. My, you are early!
xoxo

Love the fabric you chose for your tablecloth. What a great idea. I might have to try that with some Christmas tea theme fabric.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant Susie, that is much nicer than the CK cloth anyway, I am a sucker for Gnomes too so loving the other samples too, thanks I will check out the Fabulous fabric at Fabulous Fabric!
