The Quiet Sky

I have looked up into the sky over the last three days and what have I seen...nothing! Thanks to Iceland's volcano, I think it is the first time in my life that I have seen a vapour trail free sky. The beautiful blue skys we have had over the last few days are usually marred by all the aircraft criss crossing the UK. Don't get me wrong, I do feel for all those poor people stranded at airports and those who can't get away on their holiday and those who can't get home, but to look up into a sky that is only populated by birds and insects is a rare treat. It is spookily quiet up there.

More blue from the garden. As blue as they sky, a grape hyacinth.

Forget-me-not.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Susie

  4. Yes,it's been strange with no planes overhead.Usually in the evening we can see them lining up to approach Gatwick when we look out of the bedroom window...one after the other, their lights shining brightly in the dark sky.Looks like tomorrow's going to be another wonderful blue sky day...enjoy!

  5. I am happy that you have clear skies as long as it lasts. It's a shame so many are put out right now, but we all deserve blue skies some days!

Hope you are having a lovely weekend, Susie. Your pictures are beautiful!

  9. Yes, isn't it quiet without those planes - do feel sorry for those stranded in far away places or who have spent so much money on holidays they can't start. What a gorgeous blue sky:)

  10. I feel so calm, everytime I look at the beautiful blue sky. We have beautiful blue sky and clear blue sea here, today and I am grateful for that. I just love those blue flowers especially the one which looks like the grapes..Have a lovely week, Susie!

  11. Wow, I hadn't thought of that. We do get quite a few aircraft over us and as you say its quite eerie without them. The situation for all the folk stuck doesn't seem to be improving much though!

  12. That reminds me of what the skies were like right after 9/11. So nice and peaceful. I know that we rely on air travel to make the economy go 'round, but I bet you could get used to that beauty and quietness!
I love the new look of your blog! So pretty!
    Happy Sunday!
