Christmas Market

It seems to have been snowing everywhere in the country except here in Shropshire!! We've hardly had a flake! At least it has made it easier to get about and finish my Christmas shopping. I went to Shrewsbury on Saturday to the Christmas Market.

The market was very busy with lots of people mulling around the stalls.

The market is set in the old Square around the original Market Hall.

Once finished at the Market it was off to the shops.

I sorted all the decorations out for my tree last weekend. I have a bit of a mixture of all sorts. Some old and some new!

I haven't really gone for a theme this year and have just put absolutely everything on the tree until I couldn't find a branch left. I have put coloured lights on my tree this year as I like the vintage look of them.

Here's my tree all done! It has every colour you can think of on it and I think it looks really pretty....

...especially in the evening when the lights are low!

I would just like to take this opportunity to wish all my fellow bloggers a
very merry Christmas
and
a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.
See you all in 2010!
Susie X

  7. Your tree is lovely and you've managed to take a good photo of it which I can never manage! It's many many years since I was last in Shrewsbury, I must make another visit as it's a lovely old town and awash with history. It somehow looks more festive with all the old black and white buildings too. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

  11. I loved seeing the pictures of the christmas market, so very like the ones here in Germany! They can be such a pleasure to shop at, or just stroll through to look at all the lovelies for sale there, or drink a glass of cidar. As for your tree, I LOVE it!! A gal after my own heart who likes colored lights on the tree (which ours has too) and every branch tangling an ornament. We have so many I can never decide which ones to not put on, so they all end up on there, new ones and old mixing together to make a tree of past-Xmas-memories!! No theme on mine either, just this and that, and that is the way I like it. No tinsel on mine though cuz the dog eats it. :-) MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!! ~~ Debby

  14. I found you by way of Rowan at Circle of the Year. It has been many years since I visited Shrewbury, as I now live in Canada. I liked seeing the photos of Ludlow on your side bar too, a destination for many school trips in the 60's for me!
Your tree looks so pretty with the coloured lights. I love it.
Have a Happy Christmas, and best wishes for 2010.
