I woke up this morning to a very foggy and frosty Shropshire. We have had quite a mild autumn but the temperature has really dropped now and today is the first really cold day of the winter.
I had to take my car in for a service early this morning. The garage is just down the road from my house so on the walk home I took some photographs.
I took these photos at about 9.00 am and the sun is still not very high. You can just about see it through the haze of fog.
This old oak tree is at the bottom of the lane.
The ivy in the hedgerow looked very Christmassy with its frosting.
More trees and the hedgerow.
I thought these plants on the verge looked very pretty with their frosty covering.
There is more wintery weather forecast for the weekend and possibly some snow! I would love it to snow.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. Stay warm!
Susie
Just beautiful, love the trees in the fog!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, the world always looks so mysterious in frosty, foggy weather - one almost expects Merlin and King Arthur to appear through the mist:)
ReplyDeleteWe had the same view here this morning, it was lovely...but very cold! I really want some snow...xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Susie!!! I feel like it's been a while since I stopped by for a little visit! Hope all is going well on your side of the globe!

Hi Susie, I've just collected the January issue of Country Living Magazine, there's a frosty Shropshire garden featured...and it looks exactly like in your beautiful pictures!

Hello Susie!
ReplyDeleteWe have woken to a white blanket of snow here in Kent. Your pics are beautiful, did you get some snow?
Have a very Merry Christmas Susie in case I am too busy to pop by again!
Love Sarah x
Hello Susie,
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog. I love the frosty ivy photo!
Where did you find the vintage Christmas images on the right side of your blog? I'd love to use them for tags or something.
Merry Christmas!
Susie, the pictures are just fantastic, especially considering how dark and dreary it must have been at that early hour, and yet your camera was able to pick up so many details! I will have to have a talk with my camera to do a better job of things! LOVE the tree picture, it is both eerie and beautiful at the same time. Cold here in Germany now too, we got snow and temps dropped down to 15°F (-9°C) and getting colder by the minute. Sure does seem like perfect Christmas weather tho. ~~ Debby
