The main castle has eight huge towers making it a World Heritage site
The castle towers with the Conwy estuary in the background.
The Welsh flag flying.
A very deep dungeon!
The castle has a very intimidating presence and towers over the little town of Conwy.
Conwy estuary.
A good breezy place to hang the washing!
This tiny house stands on the quayside front and is said to be the smallest house in Britain at just 6 x 10 feet! It has two rooms and was once lived in by a 6 foot fisherman, Robert Jones who was too tall to stand up in the rooms!

Hello Susie
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely looking place. I can't believe that I have never spent time visiting Wales. I have only driven through it once on my way to Shropshire a few years ago.
I like visiting historical places, it looks right up my street. Love the tiny little red house!
One seeing your photos Alan said he wouldn't mind going going there too.
Have a lovely weekend (what's left of it!)
Take care

The castle is awesome...and SO old!! And what a pretty town along the sea. I love pictures like this. I also love the little house. The poor guy probably had a permanent crook in his neck!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice day! :-)

What a lovely trip - I love the castle. I wish we had castles over here in the US - I'll have to be happy visiting them with you. Wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday Susie!! What a fascinating tour of that castle. While I have been to England many times, I have yet to visit Wales. Thank you for a lovely tour. That tiny house makes my own little cottage look huge! I wish you many more years of happiness, good health and time enjoyed with family and friends!

What a spectacular castle! When we stayed in Wales a few years ago we visited Harlech Castle and then had a walk on the huge sandy beach. It was incredibly windy and we..and the dog..nearly got blown away!
ReplyDeleteMany Happy Belated Birthday wishes.

That castle is fabulous! xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures and the 'smallest house' brings back loads of memories of my teens spent holidaying in North Wales. We visited the little house, but I was so small then it still seemed quite big to me :)
ReplyDeleteit is such a lovely place-nice tea rooms too!

Happy belated Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for these pictures.
I was to Conwy years ago while visiting the north of Wales (Caernarfon, Colwyn Bay, Chester and Conwy) and I visited its Castle and the Smallest House in Britain, too.
I´ve enjoyed this post very much because it has reminded me of my British summer.
Best wishes, Belén!
